Spring is the best time to top dress your lawn. Using SPECIAL LAWN MIX from Soils Aint Soils is great for top dressing existing lawn and great for planting new lawn. Designed to produce thick green growth with strong root structure. Top dress as thinly as possiable about 10mm thick. you should still be able to see bits of grass after spreading.
Mulch
Spring is a great time to re-mulch your gardens. All soils aint soils mulches give protection to the soil, help suppress weeds and aid in water retention. Mulchs will decompose in time but the rate of decomposition will depend on the type, particle size and composition. Add more mulch occasionally to maintain the 50mm-100mm thickness. All Soils Aint Soils mulches are as effective as each other, the only difference being in texture and appearance. The premium mulch has always been the karri and Peat but newer mulches have been introduced to meet market demand and give variety in texture and price. If you decide to mulch -DONT SKIMP too little is as good as nothing at all. Don't mulch too heavily near the bases of young trees or shrubs. Their bark needs sun and air to maintain a healthy plant. Lightly pull back mulch from these areas with your hand or a garden rake.
