How to get your garden ready for Summer.

Get ready to host that Summer BBQ by tidying up your entertainment areas and clearing gutters.
Apply ‘Feed n Weed’ to tackle broad leaf weeds such as Bindii and Clover. Please note – Buffalo lawns require a Buffalo-specific weed-killer to avoid burning the lawn.
Add wetter granules or spray-on soil wetter to potted plants, garden beds and lawns to improve water retention.
Water plants deeply but less frequently to encourage the growth of healthy root systems.
During December, spread mulch on your garden beds to keep your soil cool and moist, and to keep weeds under control.
Take control of climbing plants such as vines and keep an eye out for scale insects and treat accordingly. Protect young grape vines from birds with netting.
Prune your roses and harvest your herbs to keep them in shape and to encourage new growth.
To prepare for autumn blooming add manures and fertilisers to your garden beds.
Tip: Paving is a solution for areas that are too shaded for lawn. Soils Ain’t Soils has a large selection of slabs and pavers to choose from.
